Texas Postal History Society
NEWS - All TPHS members and invited guests are welcome to attend the 2016 TPHS Fall Fling to be held Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m. during the Greater Houston Stamp Show. The event will be held again at Christopher’s Italian Restaurant, 5324 Atascosita Road in Humble, Texas, near the stamp show. You are encouraged to bring some of your favorite and fun material to show off to the group. Also, we will conduct any necessary business at the meeting and will not meet on Saturday during the show.
To provide the TPHS with an idea of what size of crowd to expect, please kindly email an accept (and indicate if you are bringing a significant other) to the dinner to John Germann at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Texas Postal History Society was organized in 1975 as an affiliate of the Texas Philatelic Association in order to further the advancement and understanding of Texas Postal History through collections, research, publications and exhibitions. There is a wide variety of collecting areas that are written about in the society’s publication - Texas Postal History Society Journal.
The area called Texas has been under five postal administrations including Spain, Mexico, Republic of Texas, Confederate States of America and United States. The rich history of Texas adds considerable flavor to any area the collector wishes to explore.
The TPHS meets annually at TEXPEX, the American Philatelic Society accredited World Series Show held each year in North Texas, and at the Greater Houston Stamp Show in the fall. Other get-togethers are occasionally scheduled, usually in conjunction with stamp shows around the state. Meetings are announced well in advance in the Journal.
Dues are $25, payable on a calendar year basis. Those who join during the year are furnished back issues of the Journal for that year. Please contact Secretary/Treasurer Lyle C. Boardman, 3916 Wyldwood Road, Austin, Texas 78739-3005 for membership information. Email email@example.com.
